Railway Police District, Syedpur

Farhat Ahmed has been the Superintendent of Railway Police (SRP) of Railway Police, Saidpur since 31st October, 2023.He is from 18th BCS and recently promoted as Additional DIG of Bangladesh Police.

He was born at 30th June, 1972 in Dhaka. He is from Kamalgonj upazila, Maulvibazar district.

Farhat Ahmed was a student of Finance and Banking and achieved his Masters from University of Dhaka.

Farhat Ahmed has been serving as a BCS cadre Police Officer in different capacity for last 25 years with honesty at its highest order and with through professionalism, He served as SP Thakurgaon, SS at CID and SB, AD SP Comilla, Sylhet and Jamalpur and as ASP in circles of Barisal and Narayangonj. He also served as a UN peace keeper in Democratic Republic of Congo and his service as a peace keeper was recognised, honoured and rewarded with the prestigious Peace Medal. He was also rewarded with the prestigious IG Badge, for his outstanding activty in Thakurgaon.

On a personal note, Farhat Ahmed has been happily and sucessfully married to Shams Masreka for last 25 years and they are blessed with a daughter, named Fariha Shams Ahmed, who is a fourth year student of Computer Science and Engineering from  BRAC University.
